Orientation for Guest Faculty
Captain Williamson Sangma State University held its Orientation Programme and Appointment Letter Distribution Ceremony for newly appointed guest faculty members on 15th May 2025 at its temporary office campus in Shillong. The event marked an important step in the university’s academic and institutional development.
The programme was attended by several dignitaries, including the Honourable Minister for Education, Shri Rakkam A. Sangma; Advisor to the Department of Education, Shri H.M. Shangpliang; Director of Higher and Technical Education, Shri H.D.B. Sangma; Vice-Chancellor, Dr Vasanthi Vijayakumar; Registrar, Shri Ambrose Ch Marak, IAS (Retd.); Controller of Examinations, Mr Debasish Chowdhury; and advisor to the State Education Commission, Mr Tony Marak, IFS (Retd.).
The Honourable Education Minister, Shri Rakkam Sangma, personally handed over appointment letters to the newly selected faculty members. In his address, he encouraged them to play an active role in strengthening the university's academic environment and expressed confidence in its potential to become a centre of excellence in the region.
The orientation session included interactive discussions led by the Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, and Controller of Examinations, who addressed queries from the new faculty. The session focused on fostering collaboration, transparency, and shared responsibility in building a strong academic foundation for the university.
