Bio:
Andrea Bazeley Agitok Sangma is a Gold Medalist from Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Guwahati, where she earned her Master’s in Sociology and Social Anthropology. She has qualified the UGC-NET for Assistant Professorship. Andrea has taught Sociology at St. Edmund’s College, Shillong, and has mentored students in research and career paths. Her professional journey includes roles at the State Health Systems Resource Centre–Meghalaya, UN-International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD)–Rome, North East Network–Shillong, and the Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India–New Delhi, with a focus on public health, gender, social inclusion, indigenous peoples and development. She has presented papers at national and international forums, and is a Life Member of the Indian Sociological Society. Outside of work, Andrea enjoys baking, nurturing her kitchen garden and spending quality time with her loved ones.
