Bio:
Born on 23 April 1967 in Dubajan, Karbi Anglong, Assam, I am the second son of Late Blenson N. Sangma and Smti Medalish B. Marak of Bolsalgre, Baghmara, South Garo Hills. I began schooling in Assamese medium and studied up to Class VIII at Balipathar High School, Bokajan. I completed matriculation in 1983 and graduated with Honours in History from Sankardev College, Shillong, in 1988. Though nominated as MDC to the Karbi Anglong Autonomous District Council in 1988, I chose to pursue higher studies, earning a Master’s degree in History from NEHU, Shillong in 1992, an M.Phil from Vinayaka Mission University, Tamil Nadu, and a Ph.D. from Singhania University, Rajasthan in 2013. I served as Principal of Capt. W.M. College, Baghmara from 9 March 1993 and retired as Principal In-Charge of Captain Williamson Memorial Government College on 30 April 2025. Currently, I am a Guest Faculty in the Department of History at Captain Williamson Sangma State University, Tura.
