Bio:
I am Dr. Barbara S. Sangma, Associate Professor, Department of English, and also the Coordinator of Internal Quality Assurance Cell of Don Bosco College, Tura. I have been teaching in this College since 1996. My study of English literature has helped me to deepen my interest in Garo literature. This is why I chose to do a PhD on Garo Folk Theatre. I have published my thesis: " A•CHIK (GARO) FOLK THEATRE: A CASE FOR INDIAN FOLK THEATRE", and a poetry book "String in a Lute" and co-authored a book - "Midong Kaa Ceremony" and contributed a number of chapters/articles in edited books and journals. I have been to Bangladesh three times on Cultural Exchange programmes. I have also taken initiative to conduct the first "Tura Me•gong International Literary Festival Edition 1" and was also the Co-Coordinator of the "Tura Me•gong International Literary Festival Edition 2". I was also the Organizing Secretary of "Indo-Bangla Cultural Youth Camp". organized by Don Bosco College, Tura.
