Bio:
Dr. Pynhunlang Kharnaior joined as a Faculty in the Department of Biochemistry at Captain Williamson Sangma State University. Dr. Kharnaior earned his Ph.D. in Microbiology from Sikkim University (Central University) with a focus on Microbial Community Structure of fermented soybean food of the Eastern Himalayas. Prior to joining the Captain Williamson Sangma State University, he held the research positions funded by the Department of Biotechnology (Government of India), at the Department of Microbiology, Sikkim University. His research interests includes Genomics, Metagenomics, Metabolomics and functional properties of traditional fermented foods. The outcome of his research revealed through publications in several peer-reviewed journals. Outside of academia he has presented his research work in both National and International Conferences and also become a Life Member in the Association of Microbiology of India (AMI) since the month of May 2020. Dr. Kharnaior is committed to strengthen the growth and development of the Department and University in both academic and research.
