Bio:
Dr. Sharalyne Khyriemmujat is an Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Sociology, Shillong College, Shillong. She obtained her PhD degree from North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong, focusing on “A Sociological Study of Ka Niam Khasi.” She has authored “A Sociological Study of the Khasi Religion” published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing House, UK. Her research work has been widely published in edited books and research journals and she has presented papers at both national and international platforms. Her work spans the Sociology of Religion, Sociology of Family and Kinship, and North East Studies on Indigenous Knowledge. Currently she is the Chief Editor of the peer-reviewed, annual academic journal Echoes from the Hills. Her journey reflects a passionate commitment to education, community service, and the preservation of the rich heritage of the Khasi people. As NSS Programme Officer, she was named Best Programme Officer in 2014. Since 2006, she has led her department with dedication, promoting education, research, and Khasi cultural heritage.
She is involved in a number of activities for enhancing academic and professional excellence.
