Department of History

The Department of History emphases on making better quality education and researchers, academic professionals and above all good human beings who can work with ethics and integrity towards the betterment of society and eventually leads to build a strong nation in these challenging times. The department, passionately, aiming for academic and research excellence both teaching and scholarly work. As ensures, the department will contribute meaningfully to the field and provide a valuable educational experience for students and members of the institute. We look forward the department to grow gloriously and emerge as one of the leading departments of the institute in future.

Curriculum:
The curriculum for MA in History has been framed in alignment with the NEP 2020 framework drawing flexibility, multidisciplinary, skills-based learning, and employability. The department also emphases to incorporate national guidelines, local context, culture and values that needs of the University and students. It is reckoning that the curriculum can help students familiarize themselves with major trend of changes in socio-economic and political forces that have shaped the world phenomena in general and the history of India in particular.

Vision:
The vision of the department is to instill ideas of nurturing human resource for the state and the national and global needs. Disseminate education for sustainable development ensuring greater accessibility to higher education for students across the State by promoting innovative educational research and transmission of knowledge in various fields of education.

Mission
1. The goal of the Department is to launch the academic courses and viable scientifically for the benefits of students.
2. Creation of a skilled curriculum to train the students for future entrepreneurs and as well as to help the society to withstand the new challenges to cater local needs.

Suggestions/Future Plan:
i. To equip infrastructure with ITC facility to support teaching and learning by using computer labs, internet access, digital libraries, multi-media resources and online learning facilities etc.
ii. To set up Smart classrooms to facilitate interactive and engaging learning experiences.
iii. To provide best platforms for research scholars to grasp significant research and job opportunities existing globally.
