
The Department of Education at Captain Williamson Sangma State University, Meghalaya, is a young but vibrant academic space, established in 2025 with the aim of nurturing both minds and communities. Guided by the university’s motto, “Learn, Lead, and Liberate,” the department is committed to shaping educators, researchers, and changemakers who can make a real difference in society.
Currently, the department offers M.A., and Ph.D. programs in Education, thoughtfully designed to meet the evolving needs of students and the education sector. Our curriculum blends theory with hands-on learning, covering areas like curriculum development, educational psychology, inclusive education, ICT, and psychological testing. Students are encouraged to think critically, engage with real-world issues, and participate in research that matters.
The department, led by a committed faculty with diverse expertise fosters an interdisciplinary, practice-oriented learning environment. It bridges school and higher education, theory and practice, and curriculum and pedagogy, closely mentoring students to grow academically and personally, preparing them to lead, innovate, and contribute meaningfully to society.
